Rhinoplasty  Costs.   Tel: 09 529 5783

The costs of any operation are made up of a combination of surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, operating room fee, operating supplies costs, recovery room fee and hospital stay (if required). In general the more complex the surgery, the longer it takes and the more the cost.

At the time of writing (2020) a typical two hour day-case primary rhinoplasty cost ranges from $17,000 to $18,000 total cost. A complex revision taking 4 hours with a night in hospital may cost $20,000 to $25,000. A more accurate cost can be provided after your initial consultation. If you have had an accident and require a corrective Rhinoplasty the total cost will be met by ACC.

Some patients are seduced by surgical tourism to South East Asia where costs are lower and a holiday is part of the deal. Whilst this may seem appealing, we have seen problems from this situation.

Typical comments relate to a lack of preoperative consultation, poor communication about the desired change, and surgery performed by inexperienced surgeons who are unfamiliar with surgery for European noses, which are quite different from Asian noses.

A subsequent costly revision may then be out of reach financially.
